Phong Luu Khau Vai market festival to take place in Ha Giang in early May

Phong Luu Khau Vai market (Khau Vai love market) is a special market associated with the legend of the love story of Ut, a girl from the Giay ethnic minority group, and Ba, the boy from the Nung ethnic minority group. Phong Luu Khau Vai Market Festival has long become a unique and special cultural feature of the ethnic people of Meo Vac district in particular and Ha Giang province in general. It is a place to honor the beauty of humane relationships between people, especially praising the sincere, pure, romantic love between couples.

A special art program to open the festival will take place on the evening of May 4 (the 26^th of the third lunar month) at the Khau Vai commune stage in Meo Vac district.

Diverse activities will be held such as incense offering ceremony at Ong temple and Ba temple; pole climbing contest to conquer love, performance of Mong flute blowing, fire dance, bronze drum dance, two-string pulling, tree dance of the Lo Lo ethnic group, sword dance and drum dance performance of the Giay ethnic group, singing contest, display and introduction of typical local products.

Visitors can also explore the valley of buckwheat flowers and love bridge; conquer the Ma Pi Leng White Cliff walking route; visit Mong ethnic community cultural tourism village in Pa Vi Ha village, Pa Vi commune./.
