Following the success of the "Proud of Vietnamese Specialties" festival held on National Day, September 2, Central Retail Vietnam has launched the "Vietnamese Specialties for Vietnamese Tet" program. This initiative aims to help consumers reconnect with traditional Tet memories and cultural values through regional dishes and specialties from across Vietnam.

Specifically, the program includes attractive promotions of up to 49% on nearly 100 specialty products from different regions, such as dried buffalo meat, dried pork, dried beef, bamboo shoots (Northwest); special dry pho, dong vermicelli, colorful rice noodles, specialty rice and peeled mung beans (Hanoi); sweet and sour fish, fried crab and other seafood (Central Vietnam); nine-flavor coconut candy (Ben Tre), shrimp chips (Ca Mau) and more.

Jose Mestre, Commercial Director of Fresh Food at Central Retail Vietnam, noted that the company's broad presence across provinces enables it to showcase a variety of local specialties at the festival, easily accessible in GO!, Big C and Tops Market supermarkets. "This event goes beyond commerce; we've worked hard with partners to offer consumers a chance to discover Vietnamese specialties. We hope it will strengthen community ties and preserve our cultural values during this peak shopping season, he emphasized.

Throughout the "Vietnamese Specialties for Vietnamese Tet" program, consumers can also participate in traditional activities, such as calligraphy by calligraphers, traditional toy making, fruit tray displays, a banh chung wrapping contest for children, a duck-catching competition, and an exciting music night at the GO! Thang Long supermarket.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, commended the "Vietnamese Specialties for Vietnamese Tet" program for diversifying the market and allowing consumers to enjoy unique specialties from across the nation. She affirmed that Tet is the most significant celebration for Vietnamese people, with the Tet meal symbolizing family reunions. Selecting local specialty products for the Tet feast honors family traditions and promotes the country's image. Oanh also noted that Central Retail, as a major retailer, offers a wide range of high-quality products, from fresh fruits to traditional candies, saving consumers time while ensuring quality and food safety.

The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade appreciates Central Retail's efforts to promote the consumption of Vietnamese products and hopes the company will continue to support the connection, promotion and consumption of Vietnamese goods from various regions, both domestically and internationally.

The festival will run at all GO!, Big C and Tops Market supermarkets nationwide until December 11, 2024./.
