Vietnam voted second-best destination for expats in 2019
According to Vietnam News Agencies, Vietnam was voted as the second-best destination for expats to live and work in 2019, revealed the latest Expat Insider survey published by InterNations.

The country moved up 12 steps in just one year from the 14th out of the 68 destinations last year, said InterNations, the world’s largest expat community with 3.6 million members, in the survey.
Vietnam is only behind China’s Taiwan which secures the first place, and followed by Portugal.
Expats are particularly happy with their career prospects (68 percent satisfied vs. 55 percent globally) and their jobs in general (74 percent satisfied vs. 64 percent globally) in Vietnam, the survey reported.
For its annual Expat Insider survey, the InterNations asked 20,259 expats representing 182 nationalities and living in 187 countries or territories to provide information on various aspects of expat life, as well as their gender, age, and nationality.
Vietnam, China boost production and consumption of tea and coffee
On October 14th, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development organized the Vietnam - China Business Forum on the occasion of Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Changfu’s visit to Hanoi.

The forum aims to create a channel connecting trade and cooperation in production and consumption of tea and coffee between the two countries.
In his speech at the event, Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong said Vietnam’s agricultural products were exported to 185 countries and territories. For agricultural cooperation with China, he stressed that the two countries have much potential in developing tea and coffee.
Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Han Changfu said tea culture plays an important role in the lives of Chinese people. Tea and coffee are also the consumption trend of young people. Thus, many Chinese businesses attended the forum.
Currently, Vietnam ranks 7th on global tea production and the commodity has been exported to 61 countries and territories. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s coffee has been shipped to over 80 countries and territories and leads the world in robusta coffee.
China is the 12th largest market for Vietnam’s coffee exports with turnover of over USD109 million and ranks 4th on tea exports with turnover of nearly USD20 million.
Vietnam among rising stars of global trade
Vietnam News Agencies reported that Vietnam has been named one of the rising stars of global trade with the sixth position among the top 20 markets with the greatest potential for future trade growth, according to a recent report by Standard Chartered.

With this ranking, the country is also the best performer among the ASEAN nations, the Trade20 index, which examined 66 economies, shows.
Standard Chartered said Vietnam shows the strongest progress in trade growth potential of all the ASEAN markets in the report, driven by improvements to its trade readiness and economic dynamism.
According to the report, economic and political reforms over recent decades have spurred Vietnam’s economic growth, bolstered by strong domestic demand and manufacturing-led export success.
The market has solid foundations for growth: it is politically stable, well-located for global supply chains and has a relatively young population./.
