Cruise ship Resorts World One brings 1,700 international tourists to Vietnam’s central city

The holidaymakers, including those from the UK, Canada and Malaysia, are scheduled to visit famous destinations in Da Nang like Ba Na Hills, Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Pagoda, Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains) and Museum of Cham Sculpture, as well as some others in the neighbouring province of Quang Nam, including UNESCO-recognised Hoi An ancient city and My Son Sanctuary.

The Da Nang Department of Tourism has sent documents to relevant agencies, asking them to coordinate in ensuring security and safety for the visitors during their trip in the city.

Statistics showed that in the first nine months of this year, Da Nang welcomed more than 5.8 million visitors, a 2.1-fold rise from the figure recorded in the same period last year, of them 1.6 million are foreigners, a 5.9-fold increase.

The city earned some 17.37 trillion VND (710.86 million USD) from the sector during the reviewed period, up 38.3%.

To boost local tourism, Da Nang has stepped up promotion activities in such promising markets as India and the Republic of Korea (RoK), and improved service quality by installing a QR Code system at various tourist sites and airports to assess the satisfaction of visitors.

Tour of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters attracts visitors

According to VOV, tours exploring the headquarters of the People’s Committee and People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City, a 114-year-old national architectural and artistic building, has attracted a huge number of local and foreign visitors.

According to the southern city’s Department of Tourism, as of October 1 the tour has welcomed nearly 5,000 domestic and international visitors.

The number of foreign holidaymakers keen on the programme has steadily been increasing, the department added.

Most notably, from now until December, visitors will not only have the chance to view some parts of the building and be given information about the history, architectural highlights, and function of the building, but they will be able to visit several exhibitions featuring beautiful landscapes. In addition, the exhibit will showcase the friendliness of local people through unique images.

Local people and visitors will be able to register a trip visiting the municipal People's Committee headquarters building at travel agents, the website www.visithcmc.vn, or by scanning the QR code.

The headquarters of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, previously known as the HCM City Hall or “L'Hôtel de Ville”, is one of the most ancient architectures in the southern metropolis.

It was built from 1898 to 1909 and was designed by the French architect Femand Gardès, drawing inspiration from the bell tower style in Northern France. Since 1975 the site has been the workplace of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

The People’s Committee Building of Ho Chi Minh City was first recognised as a national architectural relic back in 2020.

Vietjet opens five new international routes

Budget carrier VietjetAir has opened five new international routes, including Hanoi-Hong Kong (China), Phu Quoc-Taipei (China) and Busan of the Republic of Korea, and Ho Chi Minh City- Adelaide and Perth of Australia in a bid to fully meet passengers’ travel demands, reported VOV.

According to the additions, the routes connecting Hanoi and Hong Kong (China) will be launched from December 22, with seven return flights running each week.

The flights will depart from Hanoi at 8:55 a.m. and arrive in Kochi at 11:50 a.m. (local time), while those from Hong Kong (China) to Hanoi will take off at 12:50 p.m. (local time) and land at 13:50 p.m.

Hanoi is the fourth Vietnamese city to be linked by air with Hong Kong (China) by Vietjet, after Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc.

The routes connecting Phu Quoc and Busan of the Republic of Korea will open to serve passengers from December 10, with seven return flights running per week, while the routes connecting Phu Quoc and Taipei (China) will be operational from January 17 with four return flights per week on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Specifically, the route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and both Perth and Adelaide in Australia, will run five return flights per week.

Flights from Ho Chi Minh City will take off at 6:35 a.m. (local time) before landing in Perth at 14:20 p.m. (local time), and then continue to Adelaide, where flights will land at 21:10 p.m. (local time) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

In the opposite direction, flights departing from Adelaide at 7:25 a.m. (local time) will land in Perth at 8:55 (local time). From there they will depart from Perth at 9:55 a.m. (local time) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 15:40 p.m. (local time) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

In addition, Vietjet is also offering promotional tickets priced from zero VND (excluding taxes and fees) from October 2 to October 10.
