Exports via Kim Thanh – Lao Cai international border gate halted

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has received information from Lao Cai province and the Vietnam Trade Office Branch in Kunming, China, about the announcement of the suspension of import activities from Hekou district (China) due to the detection of COVID-19 cases inland.

The Chinese side expects to blockade Ha Khau district and conduct testing for the entire population.
The Chinese side also asked for Lao Cai’s coordination to stop trucks from entering Hekou from February 17 until further notice. However, the return of empty trucks will still take place as normal.
Lao Cai’s border gate management board has been requested to inform relevant agencies and businesses about the suspension./.
