According to Mr. Pham Van Quyet, Deputy Director of the VBSP’s branch in Hanoi, in the 9 months, in the context of the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic, the VBSP’s branch and other organizations and unions in Hanoi overcame difficulties and effectively implemented the work of entrusting loans for policy credit sources in the locality.

By the end of September 2021, the outstanding loans entrusted through associations and unions totaled 11.12 trillion VND, accounting for 99.7% of the total outstanding loans, and the entrusted loan balance increased by 964 billion VND.

In the 9 months, through policy credit programs, more than 86,000 households and other subjects in Hanoi received loans at the branch, including nearly 2,700 poor and near-poor households and newly-escaped households; 54,600 customers borrowed capital from the job creation program, contributing to attracting and creating jobs for over 60,000 employees; and 28,500 households borrowed capital to build and renovate 57,000 rural clean water and sanitation projects.

Notably, outstanding loans entrusted by associations and unions increased compared to the beginning of the year. The Hanoi Women’s Union managed the highest loans balance, with nearly 135,000 borrowers belonging to 3,704 savings and loan groups with outstanding loans of more than 6.03 trillion VND.

From now until the end of the year, the VBSP’s branch in Hanoi and associations and organizations will continue to strengthen coordination and promote the roles and responsibilities of officials of associations and mass organizations in monitoring, managing, urging, consolidating, and improving the quality of operations of savings and loan groups./.
