Speaking at the opening of the program, Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam Dang Hoang Giang emphasized that the Vietnam Day program in Switzerland in 2021 not only demonstrated the intense vitality of the Vietnam-Switzerland relationship, but also sent to the Swiss public and European countries the message of a beautiful Vietnam, rich in identity and ready to cooperate with Switzerland in all fields, especially innovation.

This year, the programme was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland, the Vietnamese permanent mission to the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and other international organisations, and the Department of Cultural Affairs and UNESCO under the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It also welcomed guests who are representatives of State agencies and experts in many different fields, with five main parts themed “Hello Switzerland! Hello Europe!” “Original Culture,” “Miracle Vietnam,” “Future Generations,” and “See you in Vietnam”.

The first part “Hello Switzerland! Hello Europe!” brought Vietnam closer to the international public through highlights of diplomatic and economic cooperation with Switzerland and world-class agricultural achievements.

The second part “Original Culture” depicted the unique culture of Vietnam originating from the wet rice civilization. In which, the audience can watch folk art performances, which are intangible cultural heritages recognized by the world such as Hue royal music or Then singing. This part also suggested the journey of preserving the precious cultural heritage of the nation.

The third part “Miracle Vietnam” promoted the natural landscape of Vietnam from majestic mountains, alluvial plains to modern urban areas. Besides, the audience was able to explore the typical cuisine with world famous traditional dishes through the new perspective of Swiss tourists.

The fourth part “Future Generations” highlighted many achievements in economic, social and technological development, shared by promising generations of Vietnamese. Those who laid the first foundation to build a modern and integrated Vietnam include FPT Telecom Chairman Hoang Nam Tien, and Dr. Bui Hai Hung, Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence (Vingroup).

Thanks to the online organization, the audience can interact with the guests throughout the program for the most authentic and enjoyable experience. After being broadcast, the program will continue to be replayed on VTV4 channel, Vietnam Television.

Vietnam Day in Switzerland in 2021 is within the framework of Vietnam Overseas Day, an annual national promotion program assigned by the Prime Minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. Following Vietnam Day in Switzerland in 2021, Vietnam Day in the United States in 2021 will be held in November, in order to contribute to promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation opportunities in all fields between Vietnam and the US./.
