Nha Be district has an area of 10,042 ha with about 220,000 people. It is expected that budget revenue in 2023 will reach more than 1,000 billion VND. The district has joined HCMC’s trillion-dollar revenue club.
In addition, Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park in the district has been planned to become a port urban industrial park, and it still continues to expand. Along with that, the district’s land area is very large.
Mr. Vo Phan Le Nguyen, Deputy Chairman of the Nha Be district People’s Committee, said that the district calls upon investment in six groups: housing development (with eight residential areas); waterway tourism development associated with riverside projects; green area development; investment in cemetery parks; developing supporting industries, warehouse and logistics; medical-educational development (including a high-tech medical area with an area of 42 ha and a concentrated university area in Long Thoi commune with an area of more than 150 ha.
According to Secretary of Nha Be District Party Committee Duong The Trung, the district is approved by HCMC to invest in many key projects such as Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, downstream port area and Hiep Phuoc Port urban residential area; urban development projects such as Nhon Duc - Phuoc Kien urban area, residential area projects, high-rise buildings and trade centers along with the development of neighboring areas and synchronous connection of regional transport infrastructure, so urbanization in the district takes place very quickly.
According to Mr. Trung, Nha Be district has been allocated many investment capital sources by HCMC People's Committee and the city’s departments and branches to invest in the construction of key transportation works in the district.
Nha Be needs to be planned to promote its potentials
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Bao Duc, General Director of Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, said that to develop Nha Be district, he proposed authorities at all levels and departments accelerate the determination of land unit prices of Hiep Phuoc, one of industrial parks in Nha Be district, to put the remaining land fund into exploitation, operation and attraction of investment. In addition, it is also necessary to accelerate infrastructure projects connecting to Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park such as Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection and Nguyen Huu Tho street phase 3.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Chairman of Phu Long Real Estate Joint Stock Company, an investor in Nha Be district quite early, said that Nha Be planning must be worthy of its position. HCMC needs to invest in synchronous infrastructure in the district and investors will have favorable conditions in legal procedures.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai affirmed that the development of Nha Be district cannot be separated from HCMC’s development; it is impossible to develop one district alone while there are many surrounding localities with similarities and connections.
Therefore, Mr. Hai expressed his hope that after the conference, investors and businesses with practical investment experience can meet with district leaders to discuss and give appropriate advice. With practical capacity and project management experience, investors can be determined to work with the government in project implementation.
In addition, the leaders of the HCMC Party Committee also noted that the government must understand, sympathize and share with businesses and investors, considering investors’ success or failure as the success or failure of the locality./.
