Ho Chi Minh City collects VND283.5 billion to assist northern provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi

On October 10, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Fundraising Committee, reported the contributions received in support of the northern provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, as of 11:59 PM on October 9, the city's Relief Fundraising Committee had received over VND283.5 billion in donations for the northern provinces impacted by Typhoon Yagi. Of this, nearly VND12.6 billion was received in cash, approximately VND251 billion and USD53,287.06 were transferred via bank accounts, and nearly VND19.8 billion was received via treasury accounts.
Regarding the distribution of the funds, the Ho Chi Minh City Relief Fundraising Committee announced that the city has decided to allocate VND100 billion to 13 provinces, with specific amounts as follows: VND10 billion each for Cao Bang, Lao Cai and Yen Bai; and VND7 billion each for Hai Phong City and the provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Lai Chau and Phu Tho. In addition, the city has transferred VND20 billion to the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In terms of goods, all relief supplies have been distributed to the provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Hai Duong and Phu Tho.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that these contributions are not only financial support, but also a source of encouragement and solidarity from the people in times of hardship and disaster. The funds will be transparently and publicly distributed, ensuring they meet the actual needs of localities and affected residents./.
