On October 11, the museum held a ceremony to celebrate its 45th anniversary (1979-2024), launched the project "Digitizing the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch" and opened a special exhibition titled "Ho Chi Minh - The Everlasting Name."

At the event, Mrs. Luong Thi Tuyet Trinh, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, shared that over the past 45 years, the museum has become an ideal destination for visitors, offering opportunities to learn about and research President Ho Chi Minh.

“This has been a significant venue for political activities, where people come to offer incense and flowers. It is a meeting place for various patriotic movements and gatherings, including Party and youth organizations. For many years, the museum has ranked among the top 10 attractions in the 'Ho Chi Minh City - 100 Interesting Things' list by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism. The museum provides new and engaging experiences for visitors, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage President Ho Chi Minh left for the nation," said Mrs. Trinh.

To mark the anniversary, the museum received the "Digitizing the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch" project, implemented by Vietnam Travel Magazine, HUTECH University, and Meta Art Joint Stock Company. This project involves creating a virtual museum using advanced technology to collect data from artifacts and transform them into 3D models within a computer space. Through this virtual museum, visitors can experience the exhibits via mobile devices, computers or specialized virtual reality headsets, allowing them to interact with artifacts in a 3D space and access detailed information with vivid sound and imagery.

This project contributes to the education and dissemination of culture, history and art to the public, offering an interactive learning environment for artworks, cultural heritage and historical events.

On this occasion, the museum also opened the special exhibition "Ho Chi Minh - The Everlasting Name," showcasing 39 unique artifacts from the collections of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in both Ho Chi Minh City and Thua Thien Hue. The exhibition opened to visitors on October 11.

During the ceremony, the organizers awarded the decision from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, officially recognizing the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch as a first-class museum. The museum also received a Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, with numerous groups and individuals being awarded Certificates of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.

On June 5, 1911, at Nha Rong Wharf, the young patriot Nguyen Tat Thanh boarded the Amiral Latouche Tréville ship to begin his journey to find a way to liberate the nation and bring independence and freedom to the Vietnamese people. To commemorate his immense contributions, on July 9, 1979, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a decision to convert the building at 01 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street into the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site. On April 30, 1995, the committee renamed it the "Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch."
