HuRC1 Urban Railway One Member Co., Ltd. has just issued a plan to start trial runs of Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) for the final time from December 12 to 21.

The first urban railway line of Ho Chi Minh City is expected to roll out and welcome passengers from December 22.

According to the company’s plan, this final trial run has a 19km route through three underground stations (Ben Thanh, City Theater, Ba Son) and 11 elevated stations (Van Thanh, Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, High Technology, National University and Suoi Tien Bus Station).

On December 12, the first metro line operated 48 trips with four trains on the system.

From December 13 to 21, Metro Line 1 will increase the frequency and schedule of trains. There will be nine trains operating from 5:00 am (first train departs) to 10:00 pm (last train departs).

There are 200 trains running every day with an interval of 8 minutes between each trip during peak hours and 12 minutes during off-peak hours.

The Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line spans 19.7 km between District 1's Ben Thanh Market and Thu Duc city's Long Thanh depot, featuring three underground and 11 elevated stations.

Work on the metro project began in 2012 and experienced various delays, with costs rising to over 1.71 billion USD. The line has a total of 17 trains, each can carry 930 passengers./.
