During the reception, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Nen congratulated China on its achievements in recent years, and appreciated the developments in cooperation between Vietnam and China.
According to Secretary Nguyen Van Nen, Ho Chi Minh City alone has set up friendly relations and cooperation with 8 Chinese localities. Some Chinese localities also often organize trade and tourism promotion events in Ho Chi Minh City. Over the past years, the city has also welcomed delegations from the central and local levels of China to visit.
Regarding Ho Chi Minh City’s development plans after its 11th Party Congress, Secretary Nen said that the city has launched policies and plans with high political determination so that the city always deserves its potentials and strengths, and maintains its role as the economic leader of Vietnam, and a center in many aspects, including science and technology.
Mentioning the good assessment of the Chinese Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe about the results achieved by Ho Chi Minh City, Secretary Nen expressed his thanks to Chinese agencies and localities for supporting the city’s prevention of COVID-19.
He also expressed his confidence that in the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City and Chinese localities will have more exchanges of delegations to strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding, contributing to tightening the friendship between Vietnam and China.
Expressing his deep impression on Ho Chi Minh City’s development, Chinese Minister of National Defence Wei Fenghe congratulated the city on its great achievements, which he said made it become a modern urban area and a dynamically developed city.
Giving information on some results of his delegation’s official visit to Vietnam in recent days and talking about the results in the friendship cooperation between China and Vietnam, Minister Wei Fenghe said that China is willing to work with Vietnam to promote cooperation between the Chinese Communist Party and Communist Party of Vietnam; between the two States and the two armies.
He highlighted the cooperation between Chinese localities and Ho Chi Minh City, adding that the cooperation had helped promote the cooperation between China and Vietnam./.
