A representative of the City Confederation of Labour said that in the past time, as labourers, workers and officials have been greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, trade unions at all levels have mobilized agencies and businesses to join hands in taking care of employees to quickly overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic.

Accordingly, the units took care of 19,750 trade union members and workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with VND1.2 million each, using a total amount of VND23.7 trillion. In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labour also lobbied innkeepers to reduce rental prices for 57,606 motel rooms and advocated for owners of 200 motels to exempt rent collection at the time when businesses halt or reduce production .

Recently, the City Confederation of Labour has also supported 742 union members who are preschool teachers, non-public nannies and teachers' union members, with VND890 million.

It has also transferred VND100 million to the City Fatherland Front to promptly take care of the poor workers in the city.

In order to practically take care of employees, it has given 500 voluntary social insurance cards to disadvantaged trade union members, with VND1.5 million for each card, valid for 12 months./.
