Thousands of jobs to be provided for labourers in southern hub

Ho Chi Minh City needs to create about 75,400-77,100 jobs; of which, the human resource needs of four key industries is about 12,300-12,500, accounting for 16.8% of the total need, according to the Center of Forecasting Manpower Needs and Labor Market Information of Ho Chi Minh City (FALMI).

In particular, four key industries, electronics-information technology, mechanics, food processing and pharmaceutical chemistry-rubber, need about 12,300-12,500 jobs, accounting for 16.8% of total demand.
Human resource demand in nine main service industries requires about 49,300-50,400 jobs, accounting for 60.05% of total demand. Of which, the commerce sector accounts for 22.82%; information and consulting services, science and technology account for 12.5%; and asset and real estate business accounts for 9.22%.
Human resource needs for trained workers account for 86.41% of total human resource needs, according to Ms. Nguyen Hoang Hieu, FALMI Director.
She said that in addition to requirements for professional qualifications, employers require employees to have professional skills, soft skills and labor discipline.
FALMI also reported that the labor market in the first quarter was more vibrant than the same period in 2023 when the demand for human resources to serve production and business activities in various fields and industries increased by 11.22%. In particular, human resource demand focused mainly on the trade-service sector with nearly 54,000 working positions, an increase of 14.6% over the same period last year; and the industrial-construction sector with more than 29,000 jobs, an increase of 5.46%./.
