During the reception, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung congratulated the Chinese province on its socio-economic achievements over the past years, praising the new development in cooperation between Vietnamese ministries and localities with Yunnan province, and confirming that the Vietnamese Party, Government and people supported the friendship and cooperation between the Vietnamese and Chinese ministries and localities.
The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Yunnan province and Vietnamese border localities should increase cooperation and collaboration to well organise the 6th meeting of the working group between Vietnam’s Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Dien Bien and Lai Chau provinces, and Yunnan province.
He urged Vietnamese localities and Yunnan province to increase practical cooperation in economics, trade, investment, tourism and infrastructure links.
“We suggest Yunnan create favourable conditions for transport and import of goods from Vietnam, especially for agricultural, forestry and fisheries products, contributing to balancing bilateral trade between Vietnam and China,” he added.
He went on to say that it was necessary to increase people-to-people exchanges, especially among young people, realise well 3 documents on the management of the border line between Vietnam and China, cooperate with each other in border areas, and open new and upgrade existing border gates to facilitate trade and immigration.
Secretary of the Yunnan provincial Party Committee Li Ji Heng affirmed that Yunnan attached great importance to increasing friendship cooperation with Vietnamese localities, and was willing to realise the joint awareness reached by high-ranking leaders of the two countries, and deepen the cooperation between the two countries, contributing to reinforcing the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vietnam.
He urged the two sides to increase friendship exchanges; promote the efficiency of mechanisms of cooperation between Yunnan province and Vietnamese localities to increase economic, trade, tourism, cultural, educational and medical cooperation, and the management of border areas; speed up the building of economic corridors; and actively build the Ha Khau – Lao Cai economic cooperation area through the border./.
