Vietnam joins UN Peacekeeping Operations

Vietnam has been active in joining numerous operations of the United Nations (UN), especially promoting to assign forces to UN peace keeping activities.


Overview of sharing experiences between Vietnam and France in deploying engineering unit within UN Peace-keeping Operations on December 7th, 2016.

Deputies of the UN Assessment and Advisory Visit (AAV) checked a de-mining device  of the Engineering unit joining UN Peace-keeping Operations on June 27th, 2017, at the Engineering Brigade 249, Engineering High Command.

Senior Lieutenant General, 12th PCC member and Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh presented the State President’s Decision to Major Do Thi Hang Nga, who will be a staff officer in charge of overseeing military operations at the UN peace-keeping  mission in South Sudan, in Hanoi on October 30th, 2017.

Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh took photos with deputies of Vietnam Ministry of National Defence Peace-keeping Center on May 23rd, 2015 in Hanoi.

Along with US counterparts from the US Army Medical Services and US Embassy, Hanoi, the UK personnel and Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), officers developed training scenarios for the Field Training Exercise in Hanoi on August 8th, 2017. The Exercise will train VPA staff in the type of scenarios they may face when they deploy on UN peace-keeping operations.
