Dozens of foreign delegations join Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia border exchange

The High Command of the Border Guard on November 2nd will work with the People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum to organize the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia border friendship exchange program, said Major General Nguyen Tien Thang, Head of the Border Guard High Command’s Political Department.

Talking at a press conference on October 24th, Major General Nguyen Tien Thang said that the exchange aims to enhance the solidarity and friendship among the three countries in general and between the authorities, people and border guard forces of Vietnam’s Kon Tum, Cambodia’s Rattanakiri and Laos’ Attapeu and Sekong provinces, in particular.

Under the program, diverse activities will be held, including a friendship seminar, border marker salute and joint patrol, friendship tree planting at the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia border T-junction, as well as free check-ups and medicine supply for people in border areas.

As many as 13 foreign delegations will share on the three Governments’ policies and guidelines for socio-economic and cultural cooperation across the border line and between armed forces of the three countries, as well as of Kon Tum, Rattanakiri, Attapeu and Sekong provinces.

Apart from art performance, poor families and extremely disadvantaged pupils of these provinces will be given presents of 40 cows and 20 scholarships by the Vietnam Border Guard High Command./.
