This was part of the discussion between Vice Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee Tran Van Mien and Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Deborah Paul during her working visit to the Vietnamese city on January 16th.
Giving an introduction to the Vietnamese city, Mr. Mien said that to develop an environment friendly city, it prioritizes investors creating high value and not effecting the environment, including hi-tech, information technology, tourism and services.
He expressed his hope that the Canadian Ambassador will be a bridge for promoting cooperation between Da Nang city and Canadian partners, introducing Canadian businesses to invest in areas such as education and training, hi-tech, information technology and healthcare services.
According to Ambassador Deborah Paul, Vietnam is currently Canada’s largest trade partner among ASEAN member countries, and CPTPP will open up more cooperation and investment opportunities for both sides.
She added that Canada holds strong points in areas that Da Nang city is calling investment in, such as clean technology, hi-tech, information and technology, education and training, especially in environmental protection and management of oceanic waste.
Showing her deep impression on Da Nang city’s socio-economic development, she pledged to do her utmost to link the Vietnamese city and Canadian partners and localities./.
