Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga |
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga has raised concerns over the unrest in Libya as well as the fate of Vietnamese citizens there.
The spokeswoman made the statement on February 22 in response to reporters’ question about Vietnam’s reaction to the situation in the north African nation.
Nga said “Vietnam is concerned for current developments in Libya and hopes that the political situation in Libya will be brought to normal soon.”
“Some 10,000 Vietnamese are working and living in Libya. The Foreign Ministry has instructed the Vietnamese embassy in Libya to closely follow the developments and work with responsible agencies to take immediate measures just in case so as to ensure safety for guest workers and overseas Vietnamese”.
