In Hanoi, on July 29, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan presented Friendship Order to the German Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr Rolf Peter Gottfried Schulze.
The honour was awarded in recognition of his special contribution to cooperative relations between the two countries during his term of office.
“Mr Ambassador has helped develop bilateral relations in many fields. Germany is now a European Union’s leading partner of Vietnam”, Deputy Prime Minister Nhan stressed.

He also highly appreciated the preparation of the German embassy - especially the role of the Ambassador-for the upcoming visit of German Chancellor, Ms Angela Merkel to the nation this October.
For his part, Ambassador Rolf Schulze expressed his happiness and showed sincere thanks to Vietnam’s State and Government for such Order, saying that on his arrival in Vietnam, he and his family received a warm welcome as well as goodwill from Vietnamese people. “My family would never forget this good feeling about the country”.
He also pledged to continue his positive contributions to strengthening and developing friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations./.
