The figures were announced during the reception for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio by Nguyen Van Loi, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, on March 17.
The reception demonstrated the companionship and created most favorable conditions for Japanese investors to continue to invest and succeed in Binh Duong.

Talking with the Japanese Ambassador, Secretary Loi said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2021, the province’s economy still achieved positive growth; and foreign investment attraction ranked second after Ho Chi Minh City, at nearly USD40 billion so far.
Currently, Japan is Vietnam's leading economic partner; the largest ODA donor, the second largest investor, and the third largest tourism and trade partner. By the end of October 2021, Japan invested in more than 4,700 projects in Vietnam with a total investment capital of USD64 billion.
Currently, there are more than 140 Japanese enterprises investing in Binh Duong, which mainly focus on fields such as electronic components, electronic circuits and chips, automobile assembly, iron and steel industry, other support industry and commercial services. In which, many large Japanese corporations have invested in factories in Binh Duong such as Panasonic Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, Foster Electronics Corporation, Tokyu Corporation and Fujikura Company.
Japan has actively supported ODA capital as well as experience for Binh Duong to implement water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment projects, bringing a better life to local people. Binh Duong province hopes that Japan will promote and support ODA to build key traffic routes such as in Di An City, Bau Bang District connecting to Ho Chi Minh City, and building railways.
Ambassador Yamada Takio said that he strongly supports transport projects connecting Binh Duong and the region.
He expressed his impression of the dynamic development of Binh Duong and was pleased that Japanese enterprises operating in Binh Duong are increasing in number and expanding their scale.
The Japanese Ambassador added that he hoped, in the near future, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan; Binh Duong and Japan will hold an event of cultural, musical and sports exchanges.
He also suggested Binh Duong strengthen training of high-quality human resources to meet the needs of Japanese businesses that are interested in making huge investments in the province./.
