Da Nang City strengthens cooperation with Lao locality

He made the statement on December 28 while receiving a delegation from Salavane led by Phoxay Xayasone, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Salavane Provincial Party Committee and the Province Governor.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Triet welcomed the delegation to visit Da Nang city. Talking about Da Nang’s socio-economic situation, he noted that Da Nang is focusing on strengths in tourism, marine economy, information technology, digital economy and high-tech agriculture. In the coming time, Da Nang wishes to cooperate with southern-central Lao localities, including Salavane, so that the two localities can jointly promote their strengths, boost socio-economic development, and contribute to improving people's living standards.

Over the past time, Da Nang has continued to coordinate with five southern-central Lao localities, including Salavane, to deploy many cooperation programs, focusing on constructing and upgrading schools, public works and Vietnamese language teaching centers; granting scholarships to students to Da Nang; appointing Vietnamese language teachers at Vietnamese language centers; receiving departmental and branch officials to practice and learn from experience in Da Nang. From 2018 to 2022, Da Nang spent more than VND115 billion to support the provinces of Laos, including VND22.23 billion for Salavane.

Saying thanks for the respectful welcome of the leaders of Da Nang, Mr. Phoxay Xayasone said he was delighted with the outstanding development of Da Nang in recent years, and the interest and support of Da Nang in the localities of Laos in general and Salavane province in particular, especially in training high-quality human resources, contributing to socio-economic development of the province.

He added he hoped that in the coming time, the two localities would continue to strengthen cooperation in many fields, and Da Nang city would continue to accompany, share and support the development of Salavane province. Meanwhile, Salavane will also create good conditions for businesses from Da Nang to invest in the province./.
