Hanoi always accompanies and supports Cambodia in construction and development

On April 21, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung received Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chay Navuth, during which he highlighted the long-term traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

At the reception, Ambassador Chay Navuth congratulated Hanoi for gradually repelling the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing to recover and develop the economy, bringing excitement and joy to the people.

Referring to the upcoming visit to Cambodia of the Hanoi High-Level Delegation led by Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung, Ambassador Chay Navuth firmly believed that the visit and work of the delegation will be successful. This will increasingly tighten the relationship between the two capitals and two countries, bringing more positive effects for common development.

Secretary Dinh Tien Dung affirmed that Vietnam and Cambodia have an important long-standing tradition of friendship, adding that this relationship has been cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, with the efforts and blood of many generations of Vietnamese and Cambodian people, and is an invaluable asset of the two nations.

With the motto "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability", over the years, the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia has been continuously consolidated, developed more and more deeply, real and effective. Despite being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the relationship between the two countries continues to maintain positive development momentum in various fields. In particular, Vietnam and Cambodia have coordinated and supported each other in a timely and effective manner in the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic through many practical activities and actively contributed to the epidemic control effort.

“Hanoi has a wide network of international relations with many major cities in the world. In which, it puts high priority in developing friendly and cooperative relations with Cambodian localities, especially the capital Phnom Penh. “Over the years, within its resources, Hanoi has made efforts to accompany and support Cambodia to build many works and projects of profound social significance, which is a symbol of the good relationship of the two capitals,” he said.

Talking about the upcoming visit to Cambodia, he asserted that the visit is very important as it takes place on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

He wished Ambassador Chay Nauth a very successful working term in Vietnam, continuing to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Cambodian localities, including Hanoi and Phnom Penh, to make Vietnam-Cambodia relations increasingly close./.
