He made the statement on May 8 during his reception for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Yamada Takio who expressed his farewells at the end of his term in Vietnam.
Stating that health, education - training and culture are the three investment focuses of Hanoi today, the City Party Secretary expressed his hope that the Japanese Ambassador will continue to contribute to promoting relations between Hanoi and Japanese localities, as well as relations between the two countries.
Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio highly appreciated the contributions of the City Party Committee Secretary to the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan. The Ambassador expressed his impression of the COVID-19 prevention and control achievements of Vietnam during his time in office.
According to the Ambassador, Hanoi plays a central role in promoting efforts to develop Vietnam - Japan relations. As there are more than 1,000 Japanese businesses operating in Hanoi, the Ambassador said he hoped that Hanoi city will continue to support Japanese businesses in the context of the global supply chain facing unprecedented changes.
Mentioning a number of projects being implemented in the area, Ambassador Yamada Takio also suggested that Hanoi city pay attention and remove arising problems so that projects can operate more effectively.
Expressing his special affection for Vietnam and the capital Hanoi, Ambassador Yamada Takio said that after returning home, no matter what position he holds, he will continue to pay attention to cultivating the relationship between the two countries, connecting Hanoi with Japanese localities, including Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture.
Agreeing with Ambassador Yamada Takio's opinion on Japanese-funded projects in Hanoi, City Party Secretary Dinh Tien Dung affirmed that he will always pay attention to and support these projects.
Sharing general information about the Japanese Cultural Village tourist area investment project in Dong Anh district, the City Party Secretary said this is not only important infrastructure to support the lives of more than 10,000 Japanese people living and working in the area, but it is also a tourist and cultural exchange destination for Vietnamese people./.
