Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand strengthen cooperation in trade and investment

On December 20, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai received Mr. Joseph Nelson, Consul General of New Zealand to Ho Chi Minh City, as he said farewell to his working term in Vietnam.

Chairman Phan Van Mai congratulated and highly appreciated the Consul General of New Zealand for his working time, which has made many contributions to the development of relations between the two countries. In particular, the highlight was the coordination in organizing the visit of the Prime Minister of New Zealand to Vietnam, contributing to promoting the cooperation relationship between Vietnam, as well as between Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand. During his 2 years of work, the New Zealand Consul General also performed well the task of promoting tourism, trade and investment between Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Van Mai thanked Mr. Joseph Nelson for his achievements and said the city is committed to continuing to contribute to promoting Vietnam - New Zealand relations, especially in the field of trade and investment.

Consul General Joseph Nelson thanked the City People's Committee and the city's leaders for their support to complete his working term in the city. During his working time, he has made great efforts to promote tourism and trade cooperation and introduce Ho Chi Minh City to the New Zealand business community; and coordinate the visits of the New Zealand Prime Minister and Minister of Trade to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, he has also supported the implementation of social security activities.

On this occasion, Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Van Mai presented the Ho Chi Minh City Badge to the New Zealand Consul General in recognition of his contributions to diplomatic relations between Ho Chi Minh City and New Zealand./.
