He also mentioned that members of the delegation are keen on promoting cooperation with the city in areas such as trade, education, healthcare, technological innovation and infrastructure.

He expressed his hope that the city government would facilitate UK businesses seeking to explore the investment environment in Ho Chi Minh City, including extending the operating license of the British Council, the UK's international organization for cultural and educational cooperation, which is set to expire at the end of 2024.

On behalf of the city leadership, Mr. Hoan highly appreciated the role of the London Financial Center and shared that Ho Chi Minh City aims to become an international financial hub in the near future. He also emphasized that English is an essential part of education in Vietnam and is now widely taught at various educational levels.

He noted the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between three institutions: British University Vietnam (BUV), City St George's University of London, and the Center for Foreign Affairs and Languages Training (CEFALT). He suggested the possibility of establishing a British university in Ho Chi Minh City, specializing in high-tech and financial technology education.

The city is committed to supporting and facilitating UK businesses in exploring investment opportunities and is willing to extend the British Council's operating license in the future.

As part of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between British University Vietnam (BUV), City St George's University of London and the CEFALT.

The MOU marks a significant milestone in cooperation between these institutions in cross-border education and reflects the strategic partnership between the UK and Vietnam.
