So said Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Commission on Popularization and Education, when he led a delegation to visit and work with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney, Australia, on September 29.

At the meeting, he shared that the purpose of the delegation’s visit was to study digital transformation in journalism and to learn from the management and operation of culture and arts in the digital age.

In 2019, Ho Chi Minh City and the State of New South Wales signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a cooperative relationship, covering areas such as education and training, resources and energy, agriculture and food, startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), investment, science and technology, and tourism.

New South Wales is Australia’s innovation hub, with half of the country’s startup founders based there. It is also a gateway for foreign direct investment into Australia, offering a great environment for foreign businesses to thrive.

Nguyen Phu Hoa, Deputy Consul General and Head of the Trade Office at the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sydney, noted that Ho Chi Minh City and New South Wales have a strong relationship. Several departments from Ho Chi Minh City have conducted promotional activities in New South Wales to attract investment and introduce the city's key products to the people and businesses of Sydney. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has also successfully promoted the city's tourism industry in Australia.

Deputy Consul General Nguyen Phu Hoa suggested that there are many areas where Ho Chi Minh City could further explore cooperation with Sydney, particularly in arts and entertainment services and cultural exchange. He expressed readiness to support future initiatives between the two sides./.
