Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai City urged to encourage enterprises to invest in Vietnam

On August 23, Minister Son received Mr. Kato Hiroki, representative of the leaders of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai City, Japan and representatives of the family of the late President of the association Kato Hitoshi.

At the meeting, Mr. Son expressed his deep condolences to the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai City and the family of late President Hitoshi.

He highly appreciated the sentiments and contributions of the late President Hitoshi, as well as the practical and important efforts and contributions of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai City over the years in promoting people-to-people exchanges, strengthening economic and cultural cooperation with Vietnam, including promoting the establishment of cooperative relations between Sakai City and Da Nang city, transferring Japanese techniques and fishing gear to Binh Dinh Province, and supporting in building cooperative relations between Japanese and Vietnamese universities.

He also expressed his delight at the strong and comprehensive development of the Vietnam - Japan relations with high political trust and substantial progress in the substantive cooperation between the two sides. “People-to-people exchanges and local cooperation between the two countries are increasingly close and substantive,” he said.

The Minister suggested that Mr. Kato Hiroki and the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai City continue to promote not only cultural and people-to-people exchange activities, but also trade and investment cooperation and connection between localities, enterprises of Vietnam with localities, enterprises of Sakai City, Kansai region and other areas of Japan.

He urged the association to encourage and promote member enterprises to actively cooperate and invest in Vietnam, support human resource training, expand the reception of Vietnamese interns and continue to pay attention to supporting the Vietnamese community studying and living in the region, contributing to deepening the two countries' relations, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in 2023.

On behalf of his family, Mr. Kato Hiroki expressed his thanks to Vietnam for always supporting the late President Kato Hitoshi in promoting the friendly cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that he and his family will inherit the will and desire of the late President Kato Hitoshi, and will work with the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai city to make every effort in promoting cooperation and friendly exchanges in many fields between Japan and Vietnam in general, and between Sakai City, the Japanese Kansai region and Vietnamese localities and businesses in particular.

He affirmed that he would work with the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai City to promote cooperation in education and human resource training, especially in establishing human resource development support centers to teach Japanese language and skills; promoting cultural exchanges and local cooperation between the two countries; and paying more attention and support to the Vietnamese community in Japan./.
