On June 14-17, the delegation of Lam Dong province, led by Mr. Tran Duc Quan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a working visit to Venezuela to promote diplomatic relations, and seek cooperation and investment opportunities.
During the visit to Venezuela, the delegation of Lam Dong province also made many contacts and signed cooperation agreements in a number of fields with organizations and businesses of the South American country.
Notably, the delegation attended a trade and industry promotion workshop in Venezuela's capital Caracas. At the workshop, the delegation arranged a booth to promote and introduce some products of the province, and introduce the potentials, strengths and seek cooperation opportunities in investment and tourism promotion.
Enterprises introduced and promoted tourism products and services, and production and trade such as tourism, tea and coffee products. Workshop participants were interested in Lam Dong province stall with local specialties. Through this workshop, Thanh Thanh Cong Lam Dong Tourism Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) on cooperation in the fields of investment, business in tourism, agricultural products and black tea of Lam Dong.
During the working program, the delegation had a meeting with Diosdado Cabello, First Vice Chairman of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). PSUV’s leader expressed his wish to continue to learn from the experience of and strengthen cooperation in all aspects with Vietnam; while looking forward to learn more about Lam Dong in order to cooperate with it on some strengths of the two sides. He also suggested Lam Dong province have an effective form of coordination with Caracas.
The delegation visited Juan Rodriguez Suarez Middle School; had an exchange with the school's students and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the informatics room worth USD15,000 sponsored by Lam Dong province.
The delegation also visited and worked with the Federation of Venezuelan Industry. At the meeting, the two sides exchanged and introduced potential strengths and sought cooperation opportunities in industrial investment, trade and services./.
