The activity received the support of 117 Lao, Cambodian and Vietnamese students studying in Ho Chi Minh City, collecting 161 units of blood.

This was part of a practical activity to promote the traditional friendly relations between the two countries, and practically celebrate the Year of Friendship and Solidarity in 2022 and the 69th National Day of the Kingdom of Cambodia (November 9, 1953 – November 9, 2022), and the 47th Anniversary of the Lao National Day (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2022).

According to Mr. Tran Truong Son, Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Ho Chi Minh City, in order to have a stable and quality blood supply for patients, it is necessary to join hands and contribute the efforts of the whole community to ensure the safety of blood transfusion.

In particular, during each Tet holiday, blood products for blood transfusion for patients will face many difficulties and become scarce. Over the past 28 years, Ho Chi Minh City has received more than 3 million units of blood, contributing to the treatment of millions of patients.

In recent years, the Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center has launched the "Golden Drops of Blood" application to innovate the way of managing blood donation activities and applying digital transformation technology to improve the efficiency of voluntary blood donation./.
