Peruvian Embassy hopes to increase cooperation with Hanoi in diverse aspects

At the meeting, Ambassador Patricia Yolanda Rasez Portocarrero thanked the Hanoi city government for supporting the Peruvian Embassy during the past time, especially in cultural events.

Ambassador Patricia Yolanda Rasez Portocarrero said that as this year Vietnam and Peru celebrate their 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (November 14, 1994 - 2024), the Peruvian Embassy has proposed a number of cultural activities to mark the event and celebrate Peru's National Day. The Ambassador stated that in July, on the occasion of Peru's National Day, the Embassy plans to organize a painting exhibition and in October, it will organize a music art program to celebrate 30 years of relations between the two countries. Therefore, the Ambassador expressed her hope that the Hanoi city government will continue to support and create conditions for the Embassy to successfully organize these cultural activities.

Ambassador Patricia Yolanda Rasez Portocarrero also shared that Vietnam - Peru relations have had remarkable developments in economic - trade - investment cooperation, especially with great potential when the two countries officially become full members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

She emphasized that one of the goals of her working term in Vietnam is to promote Peruvian culture and develop economic and trade fields, while boosting cooperation with Hanoi city on many aspects.

Agreeing with the proposals of the Peruvian Ambassador, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that Vietnam and Peru have spent 30 years building diplomatic relations and since Peru opened its embassy in Vietnam 10 years ago, the relationship between the two countries was increasingly developing comprehensively.

According to the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, in Latin America, Peru is currently the 6th largest trading partner of Vietnam. In recent years, Peruvian culture has become known to many Vietnamese people. In response to the Ambassador's proposal for a series of cultural activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year, he pledged to support and create conditions for the Peruvian Embassy to successfully organize these activities. Supporting the viewpoint of striving to balance trade and investment between Vietnam and Peru, he said he expected the two countries to promote cultural exchanges, tourism, and people-to-people diplomacy.

He also said he wished Ambassador Patricia Yolanda Rasez Portocarrero an excellent completion of her working term in Vietnam and more events to heighten the relationship between the two countries in all fields./.
