According to Mr. Cuong, over the past year, both Quang Nam and Attapeu Provinces were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, the pandemic has been controlled, and production activities have been restored strongly. In the first half of 2022, it collected over USD1 billion to the State budget, and remarkably heightened people’s material and spiritual life, especially in remote and border areas.
Mr. Phan Viet Cuong said that Quang Nam was focusing on developing clean industry and agriculture, which had attracted many domestic and foreign businesses to invest. “The province continues to develop tourism, industrial and logistics centers,” adding that Quang Nam hoped that the two provinces would study to coordinate and learn about investment cooperation for mutual development.
Mr. Lech Saynhaphon said that Attapeu was a locality bordering Kon Tum Province (Vietnam) with a large area of agricultural land.
He added that Attapeu Province wished to develop and exchange economically with Quang Nam. Attapeu has strengths in agricultural development, hydroelectricity and has many mineral resources to attract and call businesses to invest. There are many Quang Nam enterprises to invest in the province. Especially, Thaco Truong Hai Company has invested in developing agriculture and forestry in Attapeu. Attapeu Province is calling for Thaco Truong Hai to invest in cow breeding and fruit growing. Attapeu wished to cooperate with Quang Nam not only in economy but also in politics, security and defense.
During the working visit to Quang Nam from August 21-22, the Attapeu Provincial Delegation studied a number of economic and tourism models and worked with Thaco Truong Hai Company./.
