The project aims to help poor women and women in difficult circumstances to access interest-free support capital to build livelihood models, develop the family economy, raise income, and reduce poverty sustainably, with a total value of more than VND12 billion.

Accordingly, in the period of 2023-2025, the Provincial Women's Union set a goal of supporting at least 850 disadvantaged women in accessing interest-free capital for economic development and raising income; building and repairing at least 30 homes and assisting 1,500 poor women, orphaned and poor children in difficult circumstances.

Previously, the project on improving income for poor households in Vinh Long province and strengthening the capacity of local authorities was implemented by Merry Year Organization in 12 localities in the province, thus helping nearly 6,000 small-business households have capital to develop their economy, increase income, and stabilize their lives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh thanked Merry Year International and the KOICA for their support to the project, helping women in rural areas improve their material and spiritual life, significantly contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

She requested the Provincial Women's Union to urgently organize the implementation of the project on schedule, contributing to the good implementation of social security work in the province in the coming time.
