After 30 years of diplomatic relations, the bilateral friendship and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) has made brilliant achievements in many fields and Thai Nguyen province is proud to be one of the bright points of that success.

So said Trinh Viet Hung, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, during a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam- RoK diplomatic ties on the evening of December 6 in the northern province of Thai Nguyen.
During the ceremony, he said that Thai Nguyen always attaches great importance to foreign affairs with Korean partners in order to strengthen the cooperative partnership between the two countries.
According to Mr. Hung, since 2005, Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk province (RoK) have set up friendship cooperation and gained good results as the two localities have always given each other support and effective and reliable cooperation.
In particular, Thai Nguyen has become one of the "production bases" for big investors from the RoK such as Samsung Group, Dongwha Group, and Hansol Electronics Company. Notably, Samsung invested its first project in Vietnam in this province, with the investment license granted on March 19, 2013 and capital of USD2 billion. So far, the group has poured USD7.53 billion into Thai Nguyen, contributing importantly to its socio-economic development.
Mr. Hung also expressed his belief that with the long-term friendship, tradition and active support of the two Governments, together with the determination of localities and business communities, the friendship and investment cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow efficiently.
On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, under the authorization of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, granted a Friendship Order to Lee Byeong-kuk, Director-General of Samsung Electronics Vietnam - Thai Nguyen, in recognition of his contributions to the province’s development in particular and the two countries’ relations in general./.
