On August 23, in Hue city, leaders of Thua Thien-Hue province received President of the Belgian Senate Stephanie D'Hose and the delegation, within the framework of the delegation's visit and working program in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Le Truong Luu warmly welcomed the President of the Belgian Senate Stephanie D'Hose and the delegation.
Thua Thien Hue is one of the major cultural, tourist, medical and educational centers of Vietnam, and is striving to become a heritage city on the basis of culture, ecology, landscape, and environmental friendliness and smartness.
Thua Thien-Hue is currently the only province in Vietnam, as well as in Southeast Asia, with 5 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
The province also initially cooperated with some Belgian localities. In recent Hue Festivals, art troupes of the Kingdom of Belgium have accepted the invitation to perform and left many good impressions in the hearts of tourists as well as local people.
Thua Thien-Hue province has dozens of doctors and lecturers from Hue Central Hospital and Hue University who are studying and doing research in Belgium.
Mr. Le Truong Luu hoped that with the good cooperation between the two countries, in the coming time, more and more Belgian enterprises would come to study and explore investment opportunities in Thua Thien-Hue province.
The President of the Belgian Senate Stephanie D'Hose expressed her impression of the ancient capital of Vietnam. She said he was pleased to know that, in recent years, Thua Thien-Hue has had a fairly high position in Vietnam's PAPI (Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index) rankings, thereby showing the dynamic development of the province.
Currently, among international tourists to Thua Thien Hue, Belgian tourists do account for the majority, thereby showing the attraction of local culture and cuisine.
The President of the Belgian Senate, Stephanie D'Hose, emphasized that the good friendship between the two countries has continued for 50 years, which is the foundation for promoting further cooperation between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Belgium in the coming time in many areas, including overcoming the consequences of war, towards the prosperous development of the two peoples./.
