On October 5, the US-based UN Peace Operations Department military advisory group had a working visit to the Level 2 Field Hospital No. 3 in Bentiu, South Sudan.

At the meeting, the Level 2 Field Hospital No. 3’s Professional Deputy Director Tran Dang Khoa gave an introduction to the staffing organization and operation of the hospital, as well as some of the achievements that the hospital has made over the past 6 months, especially the plan to deal with patients infected with COVID-19.

The hospital also introduced to the UN Military Advisory Delegation the Department of Physiotherapy - Acupuncture, one of the bright and different points of the hospital, which has helped successfully treat special diseases such as diseases of bones and joints, spinal degeneration, herniated discs and ligaments.

On behalf of the Advisory Delegation, General Birame Dio highly appreciated the experience of the staff of the Level 2 Field Hospital No. 3 and the hospital's professional contributions to the work of ensuring medical care for UN staff working at the mission.

He and the delegation members expressed surprise at the image of a lotus flower outside the hospital gate; the image of a map of Vietnam made of gravel placed in the middle of the entrance to the hospital and a poster with the image of President Ho Chi Minh. All these creative products are made by the hospital's staff after working hours.

The delegation was also very impressed with the drum performance "Vietnamese spirit" by the hospital. The sound of drums resounding in the land of Bentiu, South Sudan, seems to re-create the history of thousands of years of fighting against foreign invaders of the Vietnamese people. In peacetime, the drum has become a folk art form, imbued with the tradition of heroism and indomitable spirit of the nation.

At the meeting, General Birame Dioptin expressed his confidence in the capacity and further development of Vietnam's Level 2 Field Hospital No. 3 in the future, to be able to contribute to a peaceful life for the land of South Sudan that is still suffering from many difficulties and poverty./.
