Vietnam and Russia promote cooperation in construction sector

On September 10, in Moscow, as part of the official visit to the Russian Federation by Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, a delegation from the Ministry of Construction, led by Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, held talks with Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Irek Faizullin to boost cooperation in the construction sector and labor, contributing to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

Minister Irek Faizullin noted that the Russian Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities and the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam had signed a cooperation agreement in 2012 across various fields. Russia is ready to continue expanding cooperation in areas of interest to Vietnam.
Minister Irek Faizullin also expressed a desire to cooperate with Vietnam in the field of construction labor resources.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his gratitude for the assistance and support that the Soviet Union and Russia have provided to Vietnam in its nation-building and defense efforts. He also expressed his pleasure at the growing cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister mentioned that units under Vietnam's Ministry of Construction have had long-standing cooperative relations with Russian counterparts in areas such as training, scientific research in construction, and building materials.
He emphasized that there is still considerable potential for cooperation between the two ministries and expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation in line with the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia.
He also expressed the desire for continued collaboration with the Russian Ministry in areas such as policy-making for urban architecture management and planning, housing policy, improving construction standards, research on building materials, training, scientific research and workforce development in the construction sector.
On this occasion, Minister Irek Faizullin invited the Vietnamese delegation to participate in the International Building Materials Exhibition, which will be held in Russia in October, to promote the development of the construction and building materials business community.
The Russian Minister also encouraged cooperation in construction projects aimed at supporting Russia's growing tourism industry and expressed readiness to support Vietnamese businesses in participating in these projects./.
