This annual event is a significant platform for policy discussions on defense and security in Turkey and the surrounding region.
This year's conference, themed “The New Techno-Political World: Security in Mind, Generation, Faith, Family and Nation,” featured nearly 30 specialized topics, including strategic transformation, cybersecurity, maritime security, environmental and climate security, as well as economic, healthcare, educational, food, urban and demographic security. Discussions also focused on the competition surrounding security ecosystems.
The event attracted numerous scholars, researchers, and government security and defense agencies from various countries, addressing pressing international security topics such as cybersecurity and technological security.
At the conference, Dr. Phạm Lan Dung presented at a session titled “Security Resource Systems: Opportunities for Mutual Complementarity.” Her speech outlined the concept of security, extending from traditional security to human security in the digital era. She also emphasized optimizing security resources and highlighted the vision, mission and development of security cooperation within the ASEAN region.
On the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Do Son Hai held a meeting with Professor Süleyman Şensoy, President of TASAM. Professor Şensoy noted the consistent interest shown by Vietnamese research institutions in the Istanbul Security Conference over the years. He praised Vietnam's contributions for their positivity, high quality and reflection of the country’s role in international forums to ensure security, peace, stability, and regional and global development.
Ambassador Do Son Hai expressed gratitude for the ongoing collaboration between TASAM and Vietnam’s security policy research agencies. Given the advancing Vietnam-Turkey defense cooperation, the Ambassador hoped that all parties would continue to strengthen coordination and foster practical collaboration in the future./.
