Vietnam supports Turkey with 35 tons of goods after earthquake

According to information from the Department of Transportation under the General Department of Logistics, on February 12, the department transported and gathered 35 tons of logistics materials for the Vietnam People's Army to participate in overcoming the consequences of earthquakes in Turkey.

Accordingly, all logistic materials, including 10 tons of dry food; 13.5 tons of food; 1.3 tons of nursing tools; 2.2 tons of medical equipment and medicines; and 3 tons of barracks supplies were gathered at Noi Bai Airport to be transported to Turkey by private flight.

To ensure the safe transportation of this logistics material, dozens of officers, soldiers and many specialized trucks were mobilized.

The transportation, loading and unloading was carried out from many locations, including Military Hospital 105, Military Medical Hospital 354 and two warehouses of the Department of Military Supplies to the cargo warehouse of Noi Bai Airport.

On February 12, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Deputy Minister of National Defense, went to Noi Bai Airport to encourage and see off the delegation that included 76 soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army to Turkey to participate in rescue work.

Forces of the Vietnam People's Army participating in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in Turkey include the 30-officer medical team; the 30-officer rescue team; the search and rescue dog team including 9 trainers, commanders and 6 sniffer dogs; and the command department and agency including 7 people.

The Ministry of National Defense assigned Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Search and Rescue Department, Deputy Chief of the Office of the National Committee for Incident and Disaster Response, Search and Rescue,  to assume the position of General Commander of the Vietnamese People's Army forces participating in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in Turkey./.
