Vietnam willing to cooperate with Egypt for development

In a live broadcast program on Egypt's national radio on September 9, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Tran Thanh Cong Dinh confirmed that Vietnam is willing to integrate and cooperate with Egypt, the Middle East and Africa for development.

The program was broadcast on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2) and the 58th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (September 1). Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong asserted in terms of foreign policy, Vietnam targets to expand multifaceted cooperation, multilaterally and multilaterally with all countries and territories; prioritize the development of relations with neighboring countries and regions, with central international political and economic centers and international organizations on the basis of international principles, laws and the Charter of the United Nations.

According to the Vietnamese Ambassador, Vietnam has signed many agreements and deals, and deeply and effectively participated in regional and international organizations. Vietnam's contributions at all international organizations and forums have helped Vietnam step by step improve its position and prestige in the world.

Sharing about the successes in Vietnam's economic development from 1975 to the 1986 doi moi period and since then, Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong said that the Vietnamese Party, Government and people have always made great efforts to implement President Ho Chi Minh's will in rebuilding the country more prosperously. With that goal, Vietnam has implemented the policy of opening up and integrating, expanding foreign economic relations, expanding the division of labor and international economic cooperation, and actively taking advantage of capital, technology and market.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam has successfully coped with the first and second waves, and has been making efforts to prevent the third and fourth waves. Along with fighting the pandemic, Vietnam has made plans to gradually recover the economy and tourism when the world begins to reopen after the pandemic. Despite the crisis caused by COVID-19, Vietnam’s export value of goods in the first 5 months of 2021 increased compared to the same period last year.

Regarding the relationship between Vietnam and Egypt, Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong affirmed that the traditional and good historical relations between the two countries have always been consolidated and fostered by the leaders and people of the two countries by promoting trade, investment and cultural exchanges. He expressed his belief that the two countries have great potential to promote cooperation and support each other on the basis of signed cooperation agreements. “Bilateral trade and investment will be further promoted, towards USD1 million in bilateral turnover,” he said.

In bilateral cooperation, he said that the exchange of culture, information and cooperation between Vietnamese and Egyptian radio and television outlets play a positive and important role in helping businesses and peoples of the two countries understand each other better./.
