The assistance was made during a visit to Laos by a delegation from Kon Tum province led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, on October 27, to attend the meeting to mark the 2022 Laos – Vietnam Year of Solidarity and Friendship.
The ceremony to celebrate the Laos - Vietnam Year of Friendship and Solidarity; the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 - September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 - July 18, 2022) was held in Se Kong province.
During the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Sekong, Leklai Sivilay, reviewed the good tradition of love, respect, solidarity and mutual help between the two countries.
He emphasized that in the coming time, the two countries will continue to protect and preserve the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, focusing on strengthening political relations, exchanging experiences in ideology, theory and reality; international relations and defense - security; economic, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation; and building and fostering cadres between Se Kong province and Vietnamese localities.
Previously, the leaders of the two provinces of Kon Tum and Quang Nam and the leaders of Se Kong together planted a souvenir tree at the campus of the grand hall of Se Kong province, a vivid expression of the sustainable Vietnam-Laos relationship.
Also at the ceremony, under the authorization of Vietnamese State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Phan Viet Cuong presented the second Class Independence Order to Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Sekong, Leklai Sivilay, the third class Independence Order to 5 individuals, the Friendship Order to 13 collectives and 1 individual for their outstanding contributions and achievements in consolidating and strengthening the special relationship of solidarity between Vietnam and Laos./.
