While many of Vietnam’s traditional toys have fallen into oblivion, one woman still devotes herself to making traditional paper doctors for children on the occasion of the Full Moon (Mid-Autumn) Festival.
Not only a toy for the Mid-Autumn festival, in the old time, paper doctors were also bought to present to children for a new school year in hopes that the significant gift would encourage them to study hard.
Ms Tuyen’s family in Hau Ai, Van Canh commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi still makes traditional Mid-Autumn Festival toys and she is most specialized in making paper doctors.
