Mid-Autumn Festival in Hanoi Old Quarter

From September 21-30, the Full Moon (Mid-Autumn) Festival is being held by the Hanoi Old Quarter management board, aiming to introduce the capital culture to Hanoians and tourists.

 

 At Dong Lac communal house, tourists will learn how to make traditional folk toys with artisans from Hau Ai village, Van Canh commune, Hoai Duc district. 

 

 Paper doctors were once indispensable toys for children during Mid-Autumn Festival.

 

 The traditional Mid-Autumn Festival is revived at Kim Ngan communal house.

 

 A traditional tray of cakes and fruits attracts children.

 

 This traditional toy is no longer popular among children today.

 

 Children are curious about toy ships made from iron by artisans in Khuong Ha village, Thanh Xuan district.
