Buddhist culture in the life of the nation

With some 5,000 pictures, documents, exhibits and publications, an exhibition on Buddhist culture in the life of the nation is taking place at Pho Quang Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City, attracting thousands of visitors each day.

 

 The exhibition is taking place from September 23-28 to celebrate the Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Congress term VIII (2012-2017).

 

 Thousands of Buddhist pictures and cultural products collected by monks and nuns from 24 districts are exhibited.

 

 Each district’s Buddhist representative has their own area of exhibits.

 
 

 Many works of calligraphy and paper fans with Buddhist teachings are on display at the exhibition.

 This statue is made from one hundred year old jackfruit wood. It is said to contain dozens of fragments of bombs and bullets from the war.

 The exhibition includes some statues destroyed by time and war.
