Son La hydroelectric plant generates power for national grid

The sixth group of turbines, the final one of the Son La hydroelectric plant, has officially begun generating power and successfully contributing to the national grid.

Son La hydroelectric plant, invested by Vietnam Electricity, is a key project for the country. Its capacity is 2,400 MW, with production of 10.246 billion kWh each year.

The plant will also contribute to preventing floods in rainy season and providing water in dry season for the northern delta.

 

 The Son La hydroelectric plant has six groups of turbines, for a capacity of 2,400 MW and it was built with a capital of 42.477 trillion VND.
