17,000 trees planted to raise Vietnam’s tree fund

The program “One million-tree fund for Vietnam” has launched the planting of over 17,000 green trees in Tan Phuoc district, the southern province of Tien Giang.

The launching of the planting event took place at the Tan Phuoc district People’s Committee on September 30, attracting a large number of cadres, people and pupils. |

A representative from the fund, Ms Nguyen Huu Ngoc Tran, also the acting Chief Executive Director of Marketing at Vietnam Milk Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), said that together with other community programs, Vinamilk is carrying out the tree fund aiming to join hands with the community to improve the environment for ourselves and for future generations. |

After the ceremony, delegates, other attendees and hundreds of young people planted 17,000 trees. |

Leaders from the General Department of Environment, Tien Giang People’s Committee and officials joined in the work of planting trees. |

Buddhist representatives also took part in this activity of great significance. |

Members of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union were eager to make their homeland greener. |

Many pupils also contributed to increasing tree coverage in the province. |

Trees planted will be protected to ensure healthy growth and increasing green space for Tan Phuoc district – a district where residents still have many difficulties. |

The program increases social involvement in planting trees, building awareness among local residents about protecting the environment through practical work. |

The program has been launched by Vinamilk. To plant one million trees, Vinamilk will continue the program in the years to come, based on localities’ demand for trees. |
