300 women walked around Thien Quang Lake in downtown Hanoi to support the “Action for bone health” program and mark World Osteoporosis Day on October 20.
The event co-organised by the Ministry of Health, the Vietnam Women’s Union, Anlene, VRA and Fonterra Brands Vietnam is to share knowledge of osteoporosis and bone health with young and old and raise public awareness of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease.
In 2011, around 2.8 million people in Vietnam suffered from osteoporosis and 70 percent of them are women, according to a Health Ministry report.
