Localities overcome consequences caused by storm

According to the central steering committee on flood and storm prevention, as of the afternoon of October 29, the eighth storm landing in Vietnam in 2012 claimed three lives, three missing and injured 13 others.

The eighth storm also destroyed over 5,000 houses; flooded over 6,200 hectares of rice fields; 17,625 hectares of crops; and over 700 hectares of fish farms.

Notably, the storm collapsed a 180-metre television tower in the northern province of Nam Dinh and a 15-metre one in Quang Ninh province.

After the storm, affected localities are overcoming the consequences, helping people stabilize their lives and production.
