Chestnut season in northern province
Wednesday, 31/10/2012 17:17 (GMT+7)
As it is the late season for chestnuts, famous chestnut fruits in Trung Khanh district of the northern province of Cao Bang have become more desirable and delicious.
While Nguyen Van Quang climbs on a tree and shakes it for the ripened fruits to fall down, his wife, Hoang Thi Minh collects the
fallen fruits from the ground. Raw fruits are full of thorns and can hurt anyone who touches them by chance.
After ten years, the couple has over 1.3 hectares of orchard with 200 chestnut trees, bringing them VND30-50 million each year.
