Bau Cat Trang or Bau Trang is distinguished from Bau Cat Do or Bau Do, located far from Phan Thiet City with a distance of 62 kilometers to the Northeast and 30 kilometers from Mui Ne sea, Bau Trang is the lone fresh water lake in Hong Lam, Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district.
Previously, Bau Trang was a large lake but legend says it was dammed up to create two lakes and called Bau Ong and Bau Ba.
From a distance, it is not difficult to recognize Bau Trang Lake, a blue fresh water lake adjacent immense white sand hill slopes. |
This is an attractive destination for tourists, especially those who like outdoor activities and conquering sand hills. |
The scene here is very charming, especially in Bau Ba Lake, the bridge and boat compose a very beautiful water-colour painting. |
To improve income, local people grow lotus to harvest lotus seeds and lotus root-stock. However, lotus flower makes the lakes more beautiful. |
One service offered to large groups is the rental of off-road motorbikes equipped to conquer sand hills. The hiring price is on average VND400,000 per hour depending upon the size of the motorbike. |
Forging ahead on sand slopes, racing from one sand dune to another makes many people exhilarated. Many off-road motorbike races have been organized by visitors for their delegation members as an additional treat. |
The most wonderful feeling is being alone on an off-road motorbike while crossing over sand hills to enjoy the view and take photographs |
You sometimes will become more playful before the attraction of the enticing curved lines |
You sometimes feel insignificant before the immensity of nature |
In spite of being a beautiful landscape and attracting a lot of tourists, there is no hotel or resort because of the distance from the beach, about 15 km from Hon Hong. |
However, Bau Trang is still an indispensable destination for tourists, especially those who love taking photographs |
The special beauty of Bau Trang is that it not only has two fresh lakes but also small pools and ponds among the white hills |
Around the pools, the ecosystem system develops strongly, including fish, insects, birds, water-grass. |
Particularly, you can see some special kinds of plants such as flesh-eating plants growing in the sand (the red one). |
